National Training Center is fifth USA Triathlon Certified Performance Center

USA Triathlon (USAT) has added the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida, as the US nation’s fifth USAT Certified Performance Center.

The National Training Center (NTC) met a number of rigorous requirements set forth by USA Triathlon in order to earn the designation of one of the top multisport facilities in the nation. The facility is one of only 10 certified performance or training operations in the US.

Opened by South Lake Hospital in 2001, the 37,000 square foot fitness facility features a 75m by 25-yard outdoor pool, athletic fields, and a 400m track and field complex and cross country course. The NTC also offers outpatient physical therapy, video analysis, bike fits, VO2 and lactate testing, and a newly extended performance lab with motion and gait analysis.

“USA Triathlon is excited to welcome the National Training Center to the list of certified centers,” said USA Triathlon Coaching Specialty Coordinator Ellis Schieman. “The NTC can benefit our members and athletes through the robust facilities and testing services available, as well as access to certified USA Triathlon coaches.”
