Personnel changes at OutDoor and Eurobike trade shows

With personnel changes in the pipeline, leading trade shows OutDoor and Eurobike are getting a new management structure. From December 2013, Stefan Reisinger will be the new Head of OutDoor & Eurobike, with Dirk Heidrich to take over as new Project Director.

The two shows have put down roots in Friedrichshafen, Germany, and within two decades have grown to become the leading international trade shows in their industries. When OutDoor (11-14 July 2013) and Eurobike (28-31 August 2013) take place, they bring together the world’s major market players from industry, retail and media.

Effective 1 December 2013, Messe Friedrichshafen will strengthen the two events with a new organisational and management structure. Current Project Director Stefan Reisinger will assume the newly created position of ‘Head of OutDoor / Eurobike’, where he will direct the OutDoor / Eurobike business area including all of the related national and international events around the world; while Dirk Heidrich will become ‘Project Director OutDoor / Eurobike’ in Friedrichshafen.

“Both of these leading trade shows have written unprecedented success stories in the past,” said Klaus Wellmann, CEO of Messe Friedrichshafen. “To move their international profile and influence forward, and to be able to meet the growing challenges of the future, we are strengthening OutDoor and the Eurobike with this new management constellation.”

Stefan Reisinger came to Messe Friedrichshafen from the sports rights agency ISPR in 2003 and has led the OutDoor and Eurobike projects since 2004. In his new function as head of OutDoor / Eurobike, the 39-year-old will also continue to drive the internationalisation of both brands forward.

Both have given birth to strong international spinoffs, the Asia Outdoor and the asia bike, held in the Chinese city of Nanjing. In addition, in the future Reisinger will focus more on the management of key international accounts in America and Asia.

As a holder of a degree in the economics of sport, Reisinger is enthusiastically interested in everything related to biking and outdoor sport, professionally as well as in his free time.

Dirk Heidrich has been serving as serving as Project Director of the trade show IT&Büro at Messe Friedrichshafen since October 2012. The 40-year-old, who has a degree in sport science, is very familiar with his future area of responsibility as Project Director. He was a Project Manager in the OutDoor/Eurobike team when he first joined Messe Friedrichshafen in 2008.
