Multisport accessories and sunglasses specialist Rudy Project has announced the latest in its ‘quest to design the ultimate Sports-Performance sunglass: the Agon. Named after an Ancient Greek Term, ‘Agon’, which refers to an assembly of people – and is used to indicate the ‘spirit of competition’, which characterized the Olympic Games.
Today, Rudy Project recognizes that ‘competitive nature within all athletes and aims to pay homage to it with a performance sunglass that has a racing soul.’

Incorporating many key Rudy technologies and several new cutting-edge features, according to Rudy Project, Agon is sure to be a major hit among anyone looking for sport sunglasses. Adjustable temple tips and the latest-generation ErgoIV adjustable nose piece secure the glasses with a precise and custom fit.
Made from an alloy used in aerospace applications, the Kynetium temples are specially crafted to work with helmet straps and ensure a perfect fit. The Agon’s half-rim structure guarantees a broader field of vision, and the all-new Integrated Air Conditioning System gives custom management of air circulation via adjustable ventilation slits on the lenses – helping to prevent fogging.
The Agon also utilizes the Quick Change lens system, which allows rapid lens interchanging and easy light condition adaptation. Furthermore, a range of optic solutions are available, including lenses carrying the patented Rudy Project ImpactX – a superior shatter-proof and photochromic lens that is guaranteed unbreakable for life.
All of these technologies may be melded together with Rudy Project’s award-winning Prescription Optics, a corrective lens solution that utilizes sophisticated cutting and finishing equipment to guarantee sharp clarity, superior comfort and can cater for high corrective factors.
This process may be applied directly to create interchangeable prescription lenses, or via two other methods – the RX Direct Clip lens carrier system which allows for ‘in-office lens fabrication’, or through the use of low profile optical inserts, which sit directly behind the sunglasses.
The Agon will be available in a multitude of colour variants including Frozen Ash, Matte Black, White Gloss, Yellow Fluo, Green Fluo, & Graphite.
