Suunto has launched its latest addition to the Ambit outdoor and performance GPS watch line: the Ambit2 S White. Taking a fresh approach to watch aesthetics, Suunto has opted for an all-white colour scheme; and the GPS watch is targeted at ‘multisport training or backcountry adventures.’
The stylish white edition of the Ambit2 S also comes with a soft, elastic silicone strap for improved comfort and fit for female athletes.
“We are happy to see that the Ambit2 S has been so well received by our consumers,” says Suunto President, Mikko Moilanen. “The new white edition adds a touch of style to the range and a new level of comfort for women.”
The Ambit2 S GPS wrist computer is billed as the perfect companion for seamlessly tracking ‘cycling, running and swimming workouts, or any outdoor pursuit for that matter.’ The unit provides accurate pace, distance and heart rate monitoring.
Female perspective
Suunto asked female Ambit owners to come up with ideas for Apps that they would like to use with the new Ambit2 S White. From serious to fun, a slew of ideas reportedly flooded Suunto’s headquarters. Two lucky concepts have been selected to be created by the Suunto team and are available for download via Suunto’s Appzone.
“The new Apps also join thousands of other Apps that can be found online and offer users unrivalled customization options,” continued Moilanen.
Workout and Refuel App
Inspired by Ambit owners Aleksandra Miko?ajczak and Miriam Plana, this App is designed to help athletes refuel the right way after exercise by showing the correct amount of fat, protein and carbs that should be consumed post work-out.
Workout Celebration App
Inspired by Nina Sibley, this App is all about giving rewards after a solid workout. During a session, the App alerts the user when they have worked hard enough to celebrate with a glass of champagne. (Those who exercise long enough might deserve a bottle!)
The Suunto Appzone allows users to customize their watch by choosing from thousands of Apps to download. Other downloadable Apps estimate finish time while running a 10K or marathon, count swimming laps or analyze training plans.
The Ambit2 S white is priced at US$400 (£275); the Ambit2 S white HRM version has an RRP of US$450 (£325).
