Triathletes needed for Outlaw Triathlon charity places

Nottingham based leukaemia charity The Karen Green Foundation has six places up for grabs for the Outlaw Triathlon taking place on 7 July 2013 at the National Water Sports Centre, Nottingham.

The Foundation is looking for both individuals and teams to fill its remaining places. The entry fee is £250 however this is refunded on meeting the fundraising targets of £1,000 for individuals and £1,500 for a relay team. The Foundation was established in 2012 by Absolute Triathlon Club members, and bike shop owner Mick Green in memory of his wife who lost her battle to leukaemia aged just 42.

The Foundation has already raised almost £30,000 in its first year and will use the money to help ease the day-to-day suffering of those battling leukaemia and other cancers of the blood.

Mick commented “We had 20 teams and individuals complete the Outlaw in 2012 for the Foundation and the day was just fantastic. We had so much support around the course and I was lucky enough to be able to cross the finish line hand-in-hand with my two young daughters. This is a great opportunity to take part in this fantastic race as well as raising funds for a very worthy cause.”
