To administer and provide logistical support to the Triathlon Ireland High Performance Programme, national governing body Triathlon Ireland (TI) seeks a High Performance Logistics Officer.
TI is responsible for promoting, developing and safeguarding the sport of triathlon at all levels throughout Ireland. This is done through providing membership benefits such as insurance, sanctioning official events/races, encouraging and developing coaches and technical officials, and promoting the sport to all levels of ability – from the newcomer to the country’s Olympians.
The TI offices are located in Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow and free parking is available. Standard office hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00; however flexibility will be required as the role can often involve out of hours work.
Reporting and working relationships
- Reporting directly to Triathlon Ireland’s High Performance Unit Manager and the CEO – the High Performance Logistics Officer will establish close working relationships with:
- CEO, HP Unit Manager and other TI office staff
- The ancillary coaching and medical staff within the High Performance Team
- National Development Coach, TI coaches, parents and volunteer personnel
- The relevant personnel within ITU, ETU, OCI, Paralympics Ireland and where required IIS, SINI, ISC, Sport NI
Job responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to Performance Director & High Performance Unit Manager to ensure smooth operation of HP Programme and all its aspects
- Manage ITU race entry system for all elite junior and senior athletes and coaches
- Manage all High Performance junior and senior team logistics pertaining to race competition and training camp travel
- Manage Junior Academy team logistics pertaining to training days and camps
- Manage National TID Initiatives – marketing, advertising and administration
Kit
- Manage organisational kit process – from conceptual, production to performance
- Administration support for CEO and Performance Director through kit tendering process
- Once contract awarded the High Performance Logistics Officer becomes the lead Triathlon Ireland contact with chosen kit supplier
- Manage complete organisational inventory database for competition kit and leisure apparel
- Manage and liaise with supplier regarding design/sizing/orders/ delivery
- Liaise with all elite athletes regarding kit orders; ensuring strict ITU specifications are met
- Administer print requirements, invoicing and delivery of kit, in accordance to the TI elite eligibility table
Paratriathlon
RIO 2016 sees the first ever running of Paratriathlon in the Paralympic Games and as such Paratriathlon for Triathlon Ireland will become an important part of the organisation’s development plan. The post holder will have a key input into setting the foundations for this exciting part of triathlon.
- Lead point of contact for all paratriathlon queries within the organisation
- Research and initiate development of paratriathlon within Triathlon Ireland
- Liaise with Paralympics Ireland, ITU and other para-athlete associations regarding athlete requirements, classification rules and development of the sport of paratriathlon
- Engage with TI Development Officer regarding paratriathlon development within clubs for training and providing competition opportunities for para-athletes
- Produce selection policy for international races and process ITU entries for paratriathletes
Qualification and Experience
- Relevant experience in office administration, preferably in a sporting setting
- Demonstrated understanding of the structure and dynamics of Irish sport
- Demonstrated high level experience in developing, monitoring, maintaining and implementing information records, policy and procedures
