XTERRA England 2013 broadcast on Sky Sports

XTERRA England, the off-road triathlon festival raced and won by Ben Allen and Jacqui Slack on 8 September 2013, will be screened on Sky Sports 4 as part of an extended 1-hour highlights programme.

Thousands of Sky Sports viewers will enjoy the new annual sporting spectacle that is located in the stunning Vachery Estate in Cranleigh, Surrey, UK. The 2013 edition featured the XTERRA England Championship triathlon – a 1.5K swim in the private spring-fed Vachery Lake, before hitting the trails and singletrack of the classic British woodlands for a 30K mountain bike ride, then completing the race with a tough 10K trail run.

The race attracted some of the best athletes in the world including Ben Allen, Sam Gardner, Yeray Luxem, Hector Guerra, Jacqui Slack and Kathrin Muller, as well as 350 age group athletes who were competing for their own personal goals or to grab one of the 40 qualifying slots on offer for the XTERRA World Championships in Maui, Hawai’i.

Transmission dates are set this week for Sky Sports 4 on:

  • Tuesday 5 November 22:30
  • Wednesday 6 November 01:00
  • Wednesday 6 November 07:00

The race is already open for 2014, with the race date set for 23-24 August and a new Women’s only Super Sprint added to the schedule, which also includes an XTERRA Sprint triathlon and two Big Swims.

All entrants to the triathlons will receive a commemorative t-shirt and every finisher receives a medal and complimentary food and drink and More Than Massage physio post-race care. There are 40 age-group slots for the XTERRA World Championships, held later in the year in Maui.
