On 12-14 July, XTERRA is hosting a trail running extravaganza with seven races – from silly to serious – that all ages and skill levels can enjoy at Keystone Resort in Keystone, Colorado.
Tapping into the boom in obstacle course racing, the signature event is the XTERRA Wild obstacle course run – ‘Mother Nature’s Revenge’ – that is built to be tough, muddy and fun with a series of man-made and natural hazards for runners to navigate and conquer.
While specifics about the XTERRA Wild remain under wraps (and a 40-inch base of snow, currently in Colorado!) runners can anticipate an experience that ‘melds XTERRA’s traditional laid-back vibe with a new generation of challenging adventures.’
“XTERRA, by nature, is a celebration of the healthy, active outdoors lifestyle and Keystone Resort provides the ultimate playground for such pursuits,” said XTERRA President Janet Clark. “The concept of hosting an exclusive runner’s weekend is a tribute to our trail running tribe – the fastest-growing segment of our community – and it also gives us the perfect platform to break out our very own XTERRA-style obstacle course race.”

In addition to the myriad of races, runners can expect a family friendly atmosphere, music and food, beer and wine, trail running clinics and a nightly gathering of kindred spirits.
The event is also being held in conjunction with the Keystone Wine and Jazz festival that’s just a short jog away at River Run. Centrally located in the Rocky Mountains, getting to Keystone Resort is easy with the Denver International Airport (DEN) just 90 miles east on I-70.
Those who want to make it back-to-back weekends of XTERRA fun can also join in the XTERRA Mountain Championship triathlon and trail runs the following weekend at Beaver Creek Resort in Avon, Colorado, on 20-21 July.
