Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for USAT Certified Race Directors at TBI Conference

Triathlon Business International (TBI) has announced that its conference attendees will receive four USA Triathlon Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by attending the 26-28 January TBI Conference in Marina del Rey, California.

Level I USAT Certified Race Directors must earn eight CEUs for recertification during their two- year certification period. Level II Certified Race Directors must earn 15 CEUs during their two- year certification period for recertification.

A segment of the TBI Conference schedule will be devoted to event directors including a technology demonstration on the opening day and three panels for event directors to share ideas, collaborate and learn the tricks of the trade.

Through a panel discussion format with a total of 15 experts, event directors will dig into technology tools, emergency management and security, and water safety; all hot topics in the event production world today.

In addition to these panels specifically for race directors, there will be panels on drug policies in the sport; lessons that can be learned from non-traditional and running events; a look at the state of multisport retail; new and burgeoning technology; marketing best practices; opportunities brought by charity involvement & corporate wellness initiatives; and new distribution models for triathlon.

Some of the other activities for this year’s TBI Conference include:

  • Keynote speakers Jack Caress, Travis Tygart, Gary Roethenbaugh, Thom Richmond
  • Three event directors-track panels
  • Eight general session panels
  • Speed networking – one of the most popular sessions of the previous conferences
  • Technology demonstrations
  • F.I.S.T. bike fit demonstration by Dan Empfield
  • ACTIVE X Workouts; running, cycling trails; swimming at Mother’s Beach outside the door of the hotel
  • Hospitality events, including the Competitor Group Welcome Reception
  • The ACTIVE Network Awards Celebration including announcement of top retailers, top manufacturers, top triathlon events, best triathlon article, best triathlon photograph and the male and female Ron Smith Award winners
