Elite triathlete and co-author of Family Sport Life, John Newman, recently incorporated a daily system of nutrients via sports nutrition brand EnduroPacks into his training. He used OpenWave Heart Rate Variability (HRV) tests before and after to track his body’s response.
John said, “As you can see, once I began using this system, the percentage of days in the ‘Green Zone’ or ‘Recovery Zone’ drastically increased. This means that my recovery efforts were much more effective and EnduroPacks seemed to contribute greatly.”
During John’s training he was able to remain a consistent intensity (approximately 50 hours per month, 80% aerobic, 20% anaerobic), and he had two very difficult and demanding races. John also said that his average days in ‘Green’ for 6 months prior to EnduroPacks were 8 (26%). Since he has been using the EnduroPacks nutrition system, his average is 17 (56%).
Within two days of each racing event, John was back to a normal training schedule, “consisting of high intensity intervals and long aerobic-based sessions.” John said, “In the past, it would take me 3-4 days to recover from shorter, less demanding events.”
He believes his day-to-day recovery with EnduroPacks’ daily system was more effective and efficient, stating “I am able to train at high intensities several days a week without feeling sluggish or weak.”
EnduroPacks is a supplement system engineered for optimal recovery from endurance-based activities. Developed by an ex-professional cyclist, the system contains four components:
- Liquid Pre-Workout Multivitamin
- Electrolyte Spray Concentrate
- Trans-dermal Amino Acid Patch
- L-Glutamine Capsules
This is not the first time that US sports nutrition firm EnduroPacks has put its products to test with a ‘key influencer’ in the multisport world.
In early 2014, Eli Cohen – an athlete and team director for endurance team Big Pistachio Racing – measured his Heart Rate Variability and had his blood Hematocrit levels (HCT) tested post-trial. Meanwhile, in late 2013, EnduroPacks were also tested by respected elite-level triathlete and coach, Chris Hague.
