Interbike has announced the first round of categories and nominees for the 2014 Interbike Awards (IB Awards), including product, supplier, and triathlon designations.
Cannondale, Stages Power, KHS and RockShox are among the list of brands with products nominated for the 2014 IB Awards. Presented by Hi-Torque Publications (Mountain Bike Action, Road Bike Action, Electric Bike Action and BMX Plus!) awards for the product categories will be handed out for Mountain Bike of the Year, Road Bike of the Year, E-Bike of the Year and several more.
Products nominated were chosen by the editorial teams at Hi Torque Publications after extensive testing and review during the 2014 product year (June 2013 through May 2014).
The National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) will also hand-out supplier awards under several categories, including Highest Brand Profitability to the Local Bike Shop (LBS), Best Brand Value to Consumers, Best Service to the LBS and more.
Nominees listed for the manufacturer/distributor awards include Club Ride, Cane Creek, ABUS, Assos and Giant Bicycles (to name a few). These nominees were selected by dealers that participated in a third party survey sponsored by the NBDA from February 2014 through May 2014. Retailers were asked to rate suppliers in a variety of different categories and the nominees represent the companies that received the highest ratings.
Triathlon Business International (TBI) will honour the male and female International Triathlete of the Year, and the Triathlon Industry Leader of the Year. Nominees include Dan Empfield, Gwen Jorgensen, Andrew Starykowicz and more. The athlete nominees were selected for performance in races between 1 January 2013 and 31 July 2014, while the industry leader award nominees were selected based on their demonstrated leadership and vision in driving the sport of triathlon in 2013 and 2014.
