Kestrel Bikes has confirmed that its live pre-Kona Google+ Hangout with Andy Potts will hit the ground running on Wednesday 8 October at 16:00 EST. Kestrel will quiz its sponsored athlete – to get the lowdown on Andy’s final preparations, how he’s feeling heading into the pinnacle of his season and what kind of input he had on the redesigned Kestrel 4000 bike he’ll be racing.
The hangout will also offer tri fans the chance to put their questions to the pro triathlete. Age groupers can simply tune in live and post questions to the hangout’s event page.
Pro triathlete Andy Potts’ 2014 season so far has been punctuated by four huge victories: Ironman 70.3 New Orleans, Escape from Alcatraz (the most wins by any male in the race’s history), Ironman Coeur d’Alene and Ironman 70.3 Calgary.
Injury sidelined Andy Potts last year in heartbreaking, last-minute fashion. Andy heads back to the Big Island with a vengeance. He’s structured his entire 2014 campaign around Kona, has a new weapon at his disposal (the redesigned 2015 Kestrel 4000), and has ‘gotten stronger and stronger as the season’s gone on’. As Kestrel points out, ‘it’s going to be one hell of an Ironman World Championship.’
