In celebration of the 25th running of the Great Floridian Triathlon (GFT) on 24 October 2015, all official finishers of the full distance race, from 1991 to present, will receive a complimentary entry into the 2015 race.
This special complimentary entry offer is available to all official individual finishers of the full, 140.6 mile course, from 1991-2014. As part of this 25th birthday promotion, new entrants can enter the full distance race for US$250. According to the organizing team, ‘that’s about one third of the cost of a typical iron-distance race.’
Both the complimentary and discounted entry offers expire on 12 November 2014.
“The Great Floridian Triathlon has always been the people’s race,” said Race founder & Director Fred Sommer. “In appreciation of the tremendous support offered by age group athletes over the past 24 years we felt it would be great if we gave something back to the athletes.
“At the same time we are hoping the excitement associated with the 25th birthday celebration will expose the GFT to new triathletes who may only be aware of the corporate run, branded full-distance races.”
The special complimentary race entry offer is available to all individual athletes who have finished the full distance, 140.6 mile Great Floridian Triathlon since the inaugural race in 1991. Finishers of other races held in conjunction with the full distance GFT are not eligible. Although, everyone can take advantage of the US$250 ‘super early registration special’ for the full distance.
All applicants taking advantage of the special complimentary entry offer will have their official GFT finish verified. This process will take 6-8 weeks following the close of the offer.
The complimentary entry is only valid for the full, individual 140.6 distance race and cannot be transferred to other events and distances that may take place in conjunction with the 2015 Great Floridian Triathlon.
There is a US$50, non-refundable administrative fee required to process each entry. The fee is non-transferable and non-refundable. Should athletes decide not to race the full 140.6 distance, the entire US$50 can be applied towards the entry fee of other events taking place as part of the 2015 Great Floridian Endurance Festival. Those events will be announced in December.
