Leading sports nutrition brand PowerBar has added some innovative new product formats to its sports nutrition range.
‘Wafers and fruit purees full of great flavour and packing power?’ ‘Drinks to refuel the body with vital electrolytes but without the calories?’ Yes, according to PowerBar, it’s a reality. The sports nutrition specialist is now launching three innovative products onto the sports nutrition market.
Right on cue for the start of the new season, PowerBar is expanding its product range by adding these three newcomer products that aim to deliver a combination of great taste and effectiveness… Energize Wafers, Performance Energy Blend fruit purees and 5Electrolytes tabs.
With the C2MAX Dual Source Carb Mix, both the wafers and purees provide optimum refuelling before and during sport. The 5Electrolyte tabs supply the body with the five vital electrolytes it loses through sweating – with no calories.
Time and again PowerBar aims to prove that functional sports nutrition can also taste great. Now the company has two new products to treat athlete’s taste buds while refuelling: Energize Wafers and Performance Energy Blends. Both wafer and fruit puree products contain the C2MAX Dual Source Carb Mix, a scientifically developed carbohydrate combination with a special 2:1 ratio of glucose and fructose sources.
Both products are positioned as being ideal to top up glycogen stores before doing sport or to supply energy to the body during long, intensive training sessions.
Energy supply with extra bite
‘Crunchy wafer meets energy bar’ – with its Energize Wafer, PowerBar brings a new concept to sports nutrition. On top of its unique taste and crunchy consistency, PowerBar believes that its Energize Wafer easy-to-eat form is the real clincher: ‘the wafer’s square shape and perforation means it is easily split into two pieces, making it a breeze to eat when running or biking.’ Two different flavours, both free of artificial flavours or colours, offer pleasing variety: available in Berry Yoghurt and Chocolate Peanut.
Fruit power
‘100% taste with at least 80% fruit content’ – PowerBar’s Performance Energy Blends boast a fruit smoothie taste thanks to their natural fruit ingredients; and due to the PowerBar C2MAX Carb Mix, they still match the effectiveness of a gel. In both Apple, Mango & Strawberry and Banana & Blueberry flavours, the mix enables the PowerBar product to deliver on average 35% more energy than conventional fruit purees.
PowerBar notes that it’s all done naturally, as the Performance Energy Blends contain no added flavours, colouring or preservatives. To ensure optimum use of energy needed during training or competitions, PowerBar has designed packaging that’s also ‘a cinch to open and close’.
Five electrolytes with zero calories
Many athletes sometimes only drink water when training in order to optimise fat metabolism or avoid overloading on calories. During sports activities, the body loses vital minerals through sweating, which need replacing via an electrolyte drink.
5Electrolytes soluble tablets combine the five key ingredients of an electrolyte drink – with zero calories: sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium and calcium are supplied in the same ratio that they are lost through sweat. 10 tabs per tube produce up to 7.5 litres of ready-made drink. All three flavours – Mango Passion Fruit, Raspberry Pomegranate and Pink Grapefruit – are free of aspartame, artificial colours or preservatives.
On top of this the Pink Grapefruit flavour also ‘helps boosts mental performance thanks to the addition of 75mg of caffeine.’
