Wetsuit and apparel brand Orca has confirmed its new wetsuit and swim sponsorship of Philip Graves – ‘the youngest triathlete ever to win an Ironman competition!’
In 2009, Philip Graves became the youngest triathlete in the world to win an Ironman competition, at age 20, when he won the Ironman UK race with a time of 8:45:51. More recently, he was in the top 10 at Abu Dhabi 2013. So, after a few quieter years, Philip is preparing to take the next step with Orca.
Philip Graves said “I’m really excited to be swimming in Orca wetsuits this year, they have been the leading brand of wetsuits ever since I started triathlon over ten years ago and it’s an honour to be associated with such an established successful brand.”
Raúl Casañas, Orca Global Marketing Manager foresees that “With Philip on board we ensure to walk our talk of supporting people who want to reach further. We are fully impressed with the potential Philip has and as having Non for short distance it is the perfect match in the UK to represent our brand in long distance.”
Ian Clarke, Orca UK Brand Manager, added “supporting Phil with his continued comeback is a great indicator of how Orca enjoys working with and supporting athletes. Adding Phil to the Orca Team provides us with a UK Long Distance triathlete who can support the brand through 2014.”

The Orca brand is ‘inspired by the open sea and its natural spirit of freedom.’ Founded in New Zealand but with a global outlook, Orca was created in 1992 because former triathlon champion and brand founder Scott Unsworth was passionate about creating better, faster wetsuits than those on the market at the time.
That relentless desire to use cutting edge innovation to fuel the best performance remains with Orca today. The Orca name evokes the instinct and prowess of the powerful ruler of the oceans. Like the Orca whale, ‘our designs have always been organic, streamlined and in tune with nature.’
