Rokform receives patent protection for phone protective cases and mounting systems

Rokform, a leading manufacturer of smartphone and tablet cases and mounting systems, hasy announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued the Company’s U.S. Patent #8,708,151, effective from 29 April 2014. The patent covers Rokform’s complete line of mountable protective cases and mountable accessories for mobile devices and tablets.

Rokform first became known for its unique CNC machined aluminum iPhone cases and stands when the company launched in January 2011. Since then, it has expanded its case line-up to include injection moulded high-impact polycarbonate cases for iPhone, iPad and Samsung devices.

Complementing the protective Rokform cases is the patented mounting system. The unique interlocking system quickly and easily secures the case to a variety of Rokform v3 accessories that are carefully engineered to match together. Additional mounting options are also available through an integrated magnet, allowing users to secure their device to any ferrous metal surface. A special non-slip grip houses the magnet and provides a third layer of security.

“Our entire team here at Rokform has spent countless hours engineering, testing and refining our cases and mounting systems to meet the needs of our users,” said Rokform CEO Jeff Whitten. “What we’ve come up with is a unique combination of products that fills a void in the marketplace and something that people have embraced. Patent protection of these technologies is paramount to our brand and will allow us to continue to develop innovative and useful products for many years to come.”

Rokform was represented before the Patent Office by intellectual property law firm Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP.

“As a daily user of Rokform’s products in the car, on my bicycles and in the office, I am very familiar with the benefits provided by Rokform’s proprietary technology,” said Knobbe Martens partner Curt Dosier. “I’m pleased that the Patent Office recognized these benefits, as well, with the issuance of this patent.”

All Rokform products are designed and engineered in the USA by Rokform in Santa Ana, California.
