Soho Bikes is a new take on the independent cycle shop… one which is all about having fun on two wheels, whether riding on the road or off. The shop, in Berwick Street, London, offers high quality bikes and accessories, expert workshop services; and is a convenient meeting place for cyclists to enjoy coffee, baked goods and in-store events.
Founded by Nick, Tom and Rob – passionate cyclists and coffee lovers – Soho Bikes aims to provide the highest levels of customer service to cyclists of all types.
Rob Warner, three times UK mountain bike champion, is still at the heart of the cycling scene as a Red Bull cycling commentator and has decided to bring his offbeat style to Soho, while Tom Hodder and Nick Hawker have said goodbye to their office jobs to pursue their passion for all things two-wheeled.
The team are hosting a launch party this weekend (Saturday 21 June), and are opening this up to members of the public, inviting them to come along and enjoy prize giveaways and special promotions – as well as the opportunity to meet Rob Warner who will be in the shop throughout the day.
A hub for the cycling scene
Visitors to the in-store cafe can enjoy locally-roasted Ozone coffee prepared by dedicated baristas, and a selection of freshly baked treats. The cafe environment is designed to be a hub for catching up with friends, or relaxing whilst watching the latest cycling events from around the world on the big screen.
Less is more
In setting up the new London store, Nick, Tom and Rob felt that the vast array of bicycles on the market can turn choosing the right model into a minefield. The range at Soho Bikes is hand-picked to represent the ‘best-in-class’ in terms of performance, style, durability and value. The shop also partners with major cycle-to-work schemes to provide access to great brands under the UKgovernment’s tax-free cycle purchase initiative.
Off the beaten track
While thousands of London cyclists ride to work every day, many ‘commuter’ bikes can be ‘uninspiring, compromised affairs’. Soho Bikes offers some less common brands, including UK designed Genesis and Cotic, which provide ‘performance with personality to transform the daily slog into a pleasure.’
Alongside bikes for use around the city, Soho Bikes caters for mountain bike enthusiasts, a sport enjoying a resurgence following recent successes of UK riders on the international circuit and a growing number of off-road riding venues within easy reach of the capital. Soho Bikes carries high performance mountain bikes from Giant, Genesis, Cotic and Santa Cruz, and offers top-specification models for demo rides.
Getting things fixed
Soho Bikes’ open-plan workshop is fully equipped to fix all manner of mechanical troubles, and get customers riding again in no time. Various maintenance and repair services are available at competitive rates, along with advanced servicing of hydraulic brakes and suspension units.
The kit
Soho Bikes carries a full range of cycling accessories from Shimano, SRAM, Schwalbe, GoPro, BOS, Rock Shox and other brands. Men’s and women’s helmets and clothing are offered from Giro, Five Ten, Troy Lee Designs and Madison.
