Tunnel vision for Boardman Bikes’ new AiR/TTE

For 2014, Boardman has introduced the successor to the Kona winning AiR/TT – the AiR/TTE. The British bike brand has released a short film from the wind tunnel.

“The all-new AiR/TTE project has been an exciting project for the R&D team here at Boardman and is an example of our holistic approach to design as part of our >B56 Special Projects Dept,” said Chris Boardman, R&D Director and Co Founder of Boardman Bikes.

“We’ve taken the Kona winning AiR/TT and developed the incredible AiR/TTE with impressive results – in a world of marginal gains, 4% is massive. This video was taken during a session to gather data for a direct comparison between the original TT and the new TTE. Now onto the next one!”

The AiR/TTE is the ‘superbike’ from the 2014 Boardman Elite Series line-up; and >B56 is the Boardman team’s special projects program within the Research and Development Dept headed by Chris Boardman – specifically to see how far boundaries can be stretched.

“This is an incredibly exciting project for all of us at Boardman – we want to push our R&D even further and the >B56 program will allow us to go way, way beyond. Look out for the >B56 badge on Boardman prototypes as the team works to create the performance improvements of tomorrow,” he added.
