In cooperation with national recall authorities, SCOTT is voluntarily recalling about 8,000 SCOTT Speedster road bikes worldwide. SCOTT is conducting this recall due to a finding that the steerer tube in the front fork can break, creating a possible fall hazard.
The recall affects certain model year 2014 SCOTT Speedster road bikes. These bikes have been sold in retail and online stores from around August 2013 to May 2014.
Consumers in possession of a recalled SCOTT Speedster should immediately stop riding the bicycle and take it to an authorized SCOTT dealer where a new fork will be installed at no cost.
Worldwide, one fork failure has been reported to SCOTT. This failure has not led to injury.
Speedster models with the Serial numbers shown above are potentially affected.
A detailed list of all affected bikes can be found on SCOTT’s homepage under Safety and Recalls.
