5,000 mountain biking enthusiasts to participate in 2015 Roc Des Alpes – La Clusaz

From 12-14 June 2015, 5,000 mountain biking enthusiasts will participate in the third edition of Roc des Alpes – La Clusaz, an event that has become one of the ‘major meetings of the mountain biking season’.

Registration for the event opened on 12 January, with numbers up by 25% compared to 2014. Participants can look forward to an ‘intense experience’ in the Aravis Mountains and the imposing setting of Haute-Savoie. Once the Roc has finished, they will be able to take advantage of a free pass to enjoy the Alpine tracks of La Clusaz.

With a programme incorporating twenty events, including cross-country, endurance and downhill races, all participants will find a suitable event, regardless of their level and discipline. Extreme thrill seekers will be especially spoilt for choice this year, with two EnduRoc races on Friday and Saturday, as well as heats for an Urban Super Special on Sunday.

With its 38km and almost 2,000m of elevation gain, the E-Roc will challenge preconceived ideas of electric mountain biking as ‘an easy option’.

Whilst the Roc des Alpes on Sunday 14 June (51km and 2,000m of elevation gain) is the leading event of the weekend, the Roc Marathon (80km and 3,170m elevation gain) on Saturday 13 June will send its participants to the Col des Aravis pass with its unique view of Mont-Blanc, providing ‘even greater opportunities of discovery and thrills’.
