Coffee & breakfast sponsor: Dunkin’ Donuts gets together with Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series

Competitor Group (CGI), the organizer of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, and Dunkin’ Donuts, ‘America’s all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods’, today announced a new partnership for the 2015 Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series.

Dunkin’ Donuts will become the Official Coffee and Breakfast Restaurant of Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series events in Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

“We take great pride in partnering with Dunkin’ Donuts, one of the world’s most recognized coffee brands. Together, we offer all the tools to help runners have the ultimate running experience, whether at home or on the road,” said Bill Pedigo, Chief Revenue Officer of CGI. “Our brands share a passion for leading an active lifestyle and we look forward to working together to develop unique ways to engage runners throughout their entire Rock ‘n’ Roll weekend experience.”

The international race series combines entertainment and running, featuring live bands performing at every mile along the course, cheerleaders encouraging runners throughout the race, and a post-event headliner concert. Dunkin’ Donuts’ partnership kicks off with the 6th annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half Marathon on Sunday 22 March 2015. The Dallas event is the largest stand alone half-marathon in Texas, annually attracting more than 15,000 runners.

“America runs on Dunkin, and now participants will too, through our partnership with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series,” said Scott Hudler, Vice President Global Consumer Engagement at Dunkin’ Brands. “As the Official Coffee and Breakfast Restaurant, we look forward to bringing everyone’s favourite coffee to runners over race weekend.”

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series is the ‘world’s largest running series’ with more than 500,000 runners taking part in festival events around the world every year. The series started in 1998 with the simple idea of making running fun and has ‘transformed the US running landscape’ by infusing the course with live bands, cheer teams and entertaining water stations, creating a ‘block-party’ atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.

Today, the series of marathons and half-marathons has spread to more than 31 destination cities, drawing visitors from around the world.
