The IBD Summit, presented by Interbike, PeopleForBikes, the NBDA and the BPSA has new event dates for 2016. The event will return to the Marriott Tempe at The Buttes in Phoenix, Arizona, on 12-14 January 2016. A release from Interbike notes that the earlier dates were chosen strategically to eliminate conflict with other events on the calendar.
Now entering its fifth year, The IBD Summit has evolved into a dynamic conference that includes top-level speakers, diverse panel presentations, breakout group discussions, extensive networking opportunities, along with great food and riding opportunities.
Close to 250 people, including almost 100 retailers, attended the 2015 event in which they shared thoughts and ideas on how the industry could work better together. The thoughts and ideas were then transformed into the recently published ‘Manifesto for Change’.
“We’re looking forward to furthering the conversations started at the 2015 IBD Summit, and continuing to refine the 12 Tenets,” said Pat Hus, Vice President of Interbike. “This year was just the beginning of something we feel is incredibly important work.
“The foundations for change were laid at the 2015 Summit but we will be going much deeper into solutions at Interbike and at next year’s Summit in an effort to drive progress. At the 2016 event, our intent will be to include more breakout group discussions and more panel presentations that address our industry’s challenges.”
“We love this event and can’t wait to put together some fresh content for the attendees,” said Dan Mann, founder of The Mann Group. “We were all blown away by how many people, dealers and suppliers that wanted to take part in our break out groups. Something tells me we’re going to need a bigger room for next year’s event.”
Hus said his team will also be working hard to put together fresh content with inspiring speakers to ensure that the event remains true to its original mission of education and retailer growth.
Tentative plans also include expanded ride offerings for both mountain and road bikes.
Registration is scheduled to open by 1 June 2015 and preliminary content for the event is planned to be announced by mid-summer.
