Event management platform, Events.com, which ‘facilitates and enhances the experience of hosting and attending events’, will provide online event registration and management for the 2016 Women’s Quarter Marathon next January.
The Women’s Quarter Marathon, to be held in Katy, Texas, on 9 January 2016, is a 6.55 mile course designed to showcase thousands of women and their individual and group strength. The women’s-only race aspires to empower women and young girls through fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
The new event registration and management deal adds to the Events.com growing portfolio and was announced following an agreement between the company and iRun Productions, the full-service race management and production company, which produces the 2016 Women’s Quarter Marathon.
“First and foremost, we chose Events.com because of its innovative approach to mobile and tablet technology. This makes it easier and more appealing for participants to register,” said Lauren Smith, Co-Owner and Race Director of iRun Productions.
“The Events.com team comes from the industry’s top-ranked companies, bringing with them creativity and experience.”
Adam Horton, Senior Account Executive of Events.com, said “Much of the technology that we have used to build the Events.com software did not exist when our competitors launched. Those companies have been forced to retrofit their product to meet the mobile demands of today.”
He continued, “Events.com incorporates the latest in cognitive science to offer an intuitive and user-friendly option and we are thrilled to empower the Women’s Quarter Marathon in the Houston area.”
Proceeds of the event will benefit Girls Inc of Greater Houston. The mission of Girls Inc is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold. Apparel specialist Tasc Performance has signed on as the event’s official merchandise; and all participants will receive a long-sleeve finisher’s shirt provided by Tasc and a finisher’s medal.
