Performance Bicycle, a leading US cycling retailer, has announced that cyclists around the country helped raise US$13,448 for PeopleForBikes and its goal of ‘making every ride better’. The total is a mix of donations directly from customers as well as from Performance Bicycle matching funds.

“We are humbled by the generous support our customers have provided to help improve cycling infrastructure by donating to PeopleForBikes,” said Performance Bicycle CEO David Pruitt. “We are proud to partner with PeopleForBikes and know our combined advocacy efforts will make a difference.”

Performance Bicycle partnered with PeopleForBikes, a charitable foundation with a goal of making every ride better by improving cycling infrastructure, during its National Bike Month celebrations in May. Customers were able to make an in-store or online donation of US$2 to support PeopleForBikes’ mission of creating more trails, bike parks and protected bike lanes.

Performance Bicycle matched all of the donations made by its customers for a total donation of US$13,448.

“Our vision is that bicycling infrastructure is improved to the point that safe and reliable access for all riders is the norm across America, and not the exception,” said PeopleForBikes President Tim Blumenthal. “The generous donation from Performance and its customers will go a long way in helping us achieve that goal.”

Performance Bicycle is ‘the number 1 specialty bicycle retailer in the US’ and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Performance Inc. Performance provides an omni-channel cycling experience that spans more than 100 stores nationwide across the US, and www.PerformanceBike.com, catering to both the avid cycling enthusiast and the recreational rider.
