Leading US multi-channel bicycle retailer, Performance Bicycle, hosted ‘A Great Ride For a Great Cause’ nationwide bike ride on Saturday 24 October at Performance Bicycle’s 100+ locations in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Through individual donations and the purchase of pink bracelets, customers donated US$12,499 – with Performance Bicycle donating an additional US$9,000, bringing the total contribution to US$21,499. All bracelet sales, donations and matching funds went directly to the American Cancer Society.
‘‘We are committed to helping the American Cancer Society continue its efforts to prevent, detect and treat breast cancer,’’ said Performance Bicycle Chief Executive Officer David Pruitt. ‘‘Thank you to the cyclists all across the country who partnered with Performance on raising awareness and money to help cure this disease.’’
Riders that participated in ‘A Great Ride For A Great Cause’ were encouraged to post photos of their ride with the hashtag #greatridegreatcause on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
With more than 100 Performance Bicycle stores located in 19 US states, an inventory of more than 10,000 products available through catalog and website, and a continuing commitment to providing value, education, expert advice and professional service to the cycling community, Performance Bicycle is billed as ‘the #1 shopping destination for people who love to ride bikes.’
