Part of International Bicycle Trade Exhibition Eurobike, taking place from 26-29 August in Friedrichshafen, Germany, the Eurobike Award, in its eleventh edition in 2015, ‘enjoys international recognition and prestige’.
Entries are assessed by a panel of six expert judges from the fields of retail, media, industry and design. Organisers assert that ‘only those products that convince the experts of their outstanding innovation in terms of design and functionality, sustainability and quality of workmanship are considered for a Eurobike Award’.
Outstanding entries are put forward for a Eurobike Gold Award, traditionally awarded on the first evening of the Eurobike show.
2014 saw a reorganisation of the Eurobike Award’s structure and presentation… “For the tenth edition of the award, we wanted to move in a new direction and make the criteria for selecting the winning products more transparent and comprehensible,” said Dirk Heidrich, Eurobike project manager.
“Participating firms unanimously agree that we have achieved this. In this respect, we intend to continue to work closely with the Deutscher Designer Club. More than ever before, I feel we are able to proclaim that the Eurobike Award is the most important award in the bicycle industry.”
According to the organisers, ‘the Eurobike Award doesn’t just acknowledge exceptional, innovative designs, it is also an important marketing tool. The Eurobike Award represents a valuable, independent source of information in the increasingly complex bicycle industry for the press and also end users and retailers.
‘This starts at the Eurobike trade show, where award winners are displayed prominently in a special exhibition at the entrance in the Foyer West, and continues through to the point of sale, where the Eurobike Award logo highlights a product’s outstanding characteristics.’
Registration is open for bicycle industry companies to enter their latest innovations at eurobike-award.com.
The Eurobike Award is organised in ten different product categories. The award competition is open to all. Participation at the Eurobike trade show is not a requirement for entry. Closing date for registration is 28 July 2015.
