Sports Tours International, ‘the UK’s largest independent multi-sports tour operator’, has been announced as the Official Travel Operator for the 2016 Giro d’Italia.
The 99th edition of the Italian tour starts on Friday 6 May 2016 after the route was announced earlier today in Milan.
Sports Tours International will offer weekend travel packages to the Giro start in Holland and organise longer tours that will follow the Giro on its last 10 days to the finish in Milan.
Sports Tours International Head of Cycling Alex de Waard said “This is a fantastic opportunity for cyclists to take part in one of the biggest cycling events on the calendar. All of our standard multi-day tours will include a number of exclusive VIP elements.”
The 2016 Giro d’Italia will start in Gelderland, the Netherlands, with three stages within the largest province of Holland. Special permission has been granted from the UCI to allow the Giro to transfer to Southern Italy on Monday 8 May for an early rest day, before continuing on Tuesday 10 May in South Italy.
Sports Tours International standard multi-day travel packages for the stages in Holland and Italy will include start village and finish grandstand seats.
