TBI opens up voting for ‘Best of’ Events & Video Awards

Triathlon Business International (TBI), the industry organization dedicated to promoting the sport and the business of triathlon, has today announced that voting is now open for the ‘Best Of’ events in three categories and videos in two categories.

The voting link is surveymonkey.com/r/TBI-2015. Voting closes on Wednesday 23 December 2015.

The winners will be revealed on Monday 25 January at the TBI Awards Celebration and Banquet that includes the announcement of top retailers, best published triathlon article, best published triathlon photograph, the Ron Smith Award winner and the Steve Hed presentation.

Categories and considerations for voting are:

Best Small Multisport Event in 2015 – triathlon or multisport event under 1000 participants (worldwide). Voters should consider ambiance, safety, value in consideration for entry fee paid, overall race experience, competitiveness, as well as the experience from the perspective of volunteers, sponsors, spectators and the host community:

  • Musselman
  • American Triple-T
  • Savagement
  • Survival of the Shawangunks
  • Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon
  • Demi Esprit Montreal Canada

Best Large Multisport Event in 2015 – triathlon or multisport event over 1000 participants (worldwide). Voters should consider ambiance, safety, value in consideration for entry fee paid, overall race experience, competitiveness, as well as the experience from the perspective of volunteers, sponsors, spectators and the host community:

  • IRONMAN World Championship, Kona, Hawaii
  • IRONMAN Arizona
  • Escape from Alcatraz
  • USAT Nationals Milwaukee
  • Wildflower Weekend
  • IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship at Zell Am See

Bucket List Triathlon for 2015 – what triathlon or multisport event voters would most like to do, exclusive of events requiring qualification:

  • Challenge Roth
  • Norseman
  • ÖtillÖ
  • Alpe d’ Huez Triathlon
  • Celtman
  • Swissman

Best short video in 2015 – videos produced by athletes, manufacturers, race organizations, clubs, host venues, sponsors that promote or explain themes in multisport. Video must be shorter than 4 minutes in length:

Best long video in 2015 – videos produced by athletes, manufacturers, race organizations, clubs, host venues, sponsors that promote or explain themes in multisport. Video should be between 4 and 14 minutes in length:

Conference registration

  • 1 December – 14 January: US$575 members / US$675 non-members
  • 15 January and after: US$675 members / US$775 non-members

Registration fees include all sessions, breakfast, lunches and a ticket to the Ron Smith Awards Celebration. Non-member registration includes a one-year TBI membership. Special conference room rates are available at the conference host hotel – the Marina del Rey Marriott.
