Triathletes get a buzz out of getbuzzing bars

getbuzzing Cherry Protein bar

Billed as the perfect on-the-go, nutritious snack – getbuzzing flapjack bars are nut free and ‘full of natural goodness, no additives, preservatives or artificial colours in sight.’

The company notes that intense training, competition schedules and busy work diaries place huge demand on our bodies. With this in mind, getbuzzing’s natural ingredients aim to maintain blood sugar levels and provide the brain and working muscles with the long-lasting energy they need.

The nut free, 62g flapjack range consists of Original Seed and Date, Banana, Berry, Cherry protein and Wowbutter.

The High Protein Cherry flapjack is positioned for triathletes with 15g of protein per 62g bar. Known to improve muscle recovery, cherries also help to alleviate muscle soreness. Coupled with a 2:1 ratio of protein to carbohydrates, the flapjack can boost energy levels during a tough session on the bike or after a tough swim.

Exclusive to getbuzzing, the nut free Wowbutter bar gives ‘all the taste of peanut butter without the nuts – ideal for fitness professionals and athletes to munch on the move.’

Commenting on getbuzzing, triathlete Amy Kilpin said “As a long distance triathlete, sufficient nutrition is key to my success and in our sport it’s often considered the fourth discipline. getbuzzing flapjack bars are perfect for me; I use them regularly in training so that when it comes to race day, my digestive system knows what it is coping with.

“Plus, it’s a mix of slow release and quick release carbs which is ideal for endurance racing.”

Kate Wallace, founder of getbuzzing said “Our flapjacks have been designed with the whole family in mind. Whether it’s a busy office schedule or an intense sports training programme, nutrition is the key to success. Our flapjacks are deliciously tasty and full of fruity flavour and natural goodness, offering a neat size snack to curb those mid-morning hunger pangs and post training craving.”

Launched in 2009 by qualified Personal Trainer Kate Wallace, getbuzzing is a British family-run company. The flapjacks, baked and packaged in Oxfordshire, are available throughout the UK.

Priced from £2.49 for a pack of three flapjacks, getbuzzing bars are available nationwide in Waitrose supermarkets, leading health clubs David Lloyd, Virgin Active, Nuffield Health and online retailer, Wiggle.
