TriSports Racing reacquires Deuces Wild Triathlon Festival

Deuces Wild Triathlon Festival - swim start

TriSports Racing, the charity arm of triathlon retailer TriSports.com, has reacquired the Deuces Wild Triathlon Festival. The event was sold to Chasing3 Race Productions in 2013, and the 2013 edition of the event was produced by Chasing3, while 2014 was produced by Centerpoint Events, a new partnership created between Chasing3 and Josh and Allan Friedman.

Citing a need to refocus the company, the event has now been returned to TriSports Racing.

The event began as an effort to raise money for charity and to put on an event that totally catered to the needs of the athletes. Going into its 12th year, over US$100,000 has been donated to charitable organizations, the event has close to tripled in size and currently offers an Olympic distance triathlon, Long Course triathlon and youth event on Saturday, with the XTERRA triathlon event completing the weekend on Sunday.

This allows athletes to participate in two events over the weekend, if they so choose, and earn the coveted ‘I Did the Double’ title. The events take place at Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area in Show Low, Arizona.

The White Mountains of Arizona offer cooler summer temperatures and are seen as a wonderful getaway from the hotter valleys. Most participating athletes hail from the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas, though athletes come from all over the US to participate.

Show Low and the surrounding communities have been welcoming and continue to be excellent hosts for the event and the participants. It has even been named as one of the ‘Top 5 Triathlon Festivals’ by Triathlete Magazine and was included by Outside Magazine in its 2014 Outside-Endorsed Races as a ‘Must-Do Tri!’.

Registration for the events, taking place on 30-31 May 2015, is now open. Any companies interested in sponsoring the event contact TriSports Racing via the event website.

TriSports Racing is dedicated to helping people achieve independence through sport by donating 100% of its proceeds to charity. Created in 2004 as the non-profit arm of TriSports.com, the organization produces the Deuces Wild Triathlon Festival each year in Show Low, Arizona.

Previously led by USA Triathlon Certified Race Director Debbie Claggett, she will be joined this year by Carolyn Audilet, also a Certified Race Director to create a team that has one focus in mind – ‘producing the best possible race experience for participants!’
