In what is being billed as an aggressive move, Rudy Project North America announced this week that all dealers would be able to purchase any of Rudy Project’s award-winning road, MTB, and time trial/aero helmets at one-third of MSRP, ‘resulting in an unprecedented everyday 3X markup’.
In addition, the company is removing all minimum buy or pre-booking requirements, and all qualified dealers will receive Net 60 Terms. According to the company, ‘This bold new pricing model is aimed at increasing flexibility and cash flow for dealers, and offers shops some of the best, if not the best, margins on helmets in the endurance sports industry.’
“Rudy Project’s new forward-thinking helmet pricing and order policies are intended to give the power and maximum flexibility back to dealers,” said Paul Craig, President and Co-Founder of Rudy Project North America.
He continued, “Order one helmet, order one hundred helmets… it doesn’t matter. Dealers will get 3X markup, no matter what. Gone are the days of complicated pre-booking, minimum buys, and daunting rules to follow. We want dealers to buy what they sell, and have the flexibility to manage their helmet inventory, freeing up cash.
“Put plainly, our goal is to have the friendliest and most innovative policies in the industry that are easy to understand, simple, and that put money in the hands of our valued dealers. From internet discounters to squeezed margins, dealers have had a lot of things going against them, so we love that we can give them a solid program that should put a smile on everyone.”
Rudy Project helmets offer advanced, lightweight in-mould construction technology, internal bug net padding, and retention/adjustment systems. The company has received a number of awards for technological innovation and commitment to excellence, such as Triathlete Magazine’s ‘Best Aero Helmet’ and #1 helmet at the IRONMAN World Championships for the past five consecutive years, to name a few.
In addition to multisport accolades, Rudy Project has a rich road cycling heritage, most recently seen with its support of the Jelly Belly Pro Cycling Team at the 2016 Tour of Utah. Rudy Project will soon ‘expands its cycling family with the announcement of a major World Tour Team, signed on to wear Rudy helmets and eyewear in 2017.’
By offering 3X markup on all helmets, Rudy Project adds that more North American dealers will have access to the brand line-up of headwear ‘for a fraction of MSRP with the ability to price match and still bring in revenue under any circumstance.’
A release from Rudy Project concludes that it ‘reigns supreme as creators of the world’s most technically cool lids: now it can boast the best dealer helmet pricing policies in North America as well.’
