Zone3 has announced the signing of GB Olympic hopeful Adam Bowden. Vying for the third spot in the GB men’s Olympic triathlon team, Adam is one of the top competitors in the UK and on the ITU circuit. He was announced in the British Triathlon UK Sport World class podium programme earlier this year.
Adam was a former international runner who specialised in the 3000m Steeplechase. Originally from Watford, Hertfordshire, he was a national level swimmer as a teenager before concentrating on athletics, and now triathlon. Adam is now based in Loughborough, where Zone3 was originally founded in 2007 at the university by James Lock, a former professional triathlete himself.
Adam will be swimming in the brand new 2016 Vanquish wetsuit, which the company adds ‘is due to be Zone3’s best performing wetsuit to date and will no doubt improve Adams already very powerful swim.’
Bowden said “I’m really excited to have my new wetsuit sponsors Zone3 join the team this year. I have tried out the wetsuit and it is extremely comfortable and fast. The difference that I have noticed from wearing a Zone3 wetsuit is how flexible the shoulders and arms have been. The wetsuit has also been very good in the transition test being able to get the wetsuit off with ease.
“As a swimmer these factors play very important part of being able to get the most out of your swim which Zone3 has done very well.”
Zone3’s Sponsorship Manager, Jake Presley, said “We are thrilled to have someone of Adam’s talent on board with Zone3 for 2016. Having International experience on the road, track and cross country, we are sure Adam will show his quality in the swim with our wetsuit and we look forward to being a part of his journey this year.”
Adam’s management team, Lane1 Management, has also been a factor in the new partnership, with the company’s Ken Hardy having an array of young British athletes, aiming to join Adam among the top of British Triathlon talent.
