Datasport – an international race timing and sports service provider – has confirmed a change in its leadership, with former CEO Matthias Fehr handing over his duties to Andreas Csonka, who starts as the new CEO at Datasport on 1 November.
Datasport offers event organisers a rounded package for mass participation sporting events – from registration, collection, through to event follow-up and promotion. Over 1 million athletes reportedly have an online account at Datasport, and 470,000 are informed about up and coming sports events every month via the Datasport e-mail newsletter.
Datasport, headed by Andreas Csonka, will ‘continue to expand on these unique competencies’. The focus is on its ‘loyal and powerful customer base of athletes’. These should receive ‘added value and profit from new experiences’. For this Datasport will rely on the latest measuring technology, a complete relaunch of datasport.com, the development of the Datasport app and an opening up of cross-promotional opportunities through its network, for example with Swisscom Health and other network partners.
(In 2012, telecom and services specialist Swisscom acquired Datasport, helping to expand the footprint for Swisscom at major endurance and multisport events.)
48-year-old Andreas Csonka has a track record in organizational development for consulting companies such as Capgemini, Arthur D Little and Boydak Strategy Consulting. Datasport adds that he is well networked in the Swiss sports scene.
