Cardiff Triathlon 2017 expected to sell out in record time

Cardiff Triathlon finish line

Registration for the Always Aim High Events organised Cardiff Triathlon 2017 will open at midday BST on Friday 19 August, with the event ‘expected to sell out in record time’.

The third Cardiff Triathlon will take place on the weekend of 24-25 June 2017 with the transition and event hub based at the Wales Millennium Centre, at Cardiff Bay. From Friday 19 August 2016, athletes are advised to sign up quickly in order to participate in this high profile sporting event on the Welsh Triathlon and wider UK event calendar.

The Cardiff Triathlon starts with a swim in the world famous Cardiff Bay. The race then moves on to a completely closed road cycle and run through the streets surrounding the area.

There are three distances available across the weekend. Two distances will take place on Saturday 24 June; Sprint and Super Sprint. The sprint distance features a 750m swim, a 20km cycle and a 5km run, while the popular with beginners Super Sprint consists of a 400m swim, 10km cycle and a 2.5km run.

Sunday 25 June hosts the main event: the Olympic distance triathlon, which includes a 1,500m swim, 40km cycle and a 15km run.

Over 1,000 people took part in the Cardiff Triathlon 2016 with Always Aim High reporting that ‘99.5% of entrants said they would recommend the event to others’. And with television coverage taking place across the weekend, the organising team add that ‘this triathlon stands alongside some of the great global city triathlon events.’

Always Aim High Events has frozen the prices for the 2017 event and, for a limited time only, are offering an early bird discount.
