UK event organiser Tri-Adventure has confirmed that it is organising and managing the annual Hurtleberry Charity Event on Sunday 4 September on behalf of The Friends of the Hurtwood. Set in the woodlands of The Hurtwood, an area of heath and forest in the heart of the Surrey Hills, this year’s event is billed as being bigger and better than before, offering Full and Sprint Duathlons (mountain bike and run), a Trail Run and a Canicross!
This event is the largest fund-raising event of the year for the Friends of the Hurtwood and allows the organisation to continue its valuable work securing funding to maintain the area for the benefit of the public. The Hurtwood offers open access to bird watchers, dog walkers, horseback riders, mountain bikers and anyone who enjoys the fresh air.
The duathlon event will be chip timed and competitors will be guided through the woodland before returning to the event village to transition onto their bikes. They will then follow what can be quite a challenging course with single track sections before returning to the transition area for a final shorter run to the finish. The Trail run and Canicross will follow the same 10K woodland run route.
Registration will be open from 07:30 GMT in the event village near to the Holmbury St Mary Cricket Club and the events start from 09:00.
The organising team at Tri-Adventure will be offering a bike hire option with its partner B1KE.
