Manchester’s Tri Expo gathers pace as Paula Radcliffe confirms attendance

Paula Radcliffe and women runners in London

Tri Expo, which runs alongside Swim Expo, Bike Expo and Run Expo, on 18-20 March 2016 at EventCity in Manchester, UK, is building momentum. Positioned as a ‘festival of endurance sport’, the consumer show features some the latest gear and equipment on the market, indoor racing, live coaching demos and seminars, celebrity guest appearances, exclusive show offers and giveaways, and more.

The biggest news in recent weeks for the show organisers is that world marathon record holder Paula Radcliffe will be attending the Expo on Sunday 20 March. Paula joins a list of sporting celebrities, which already features swimming legend Mark Foster, cycling guru Rob Hayles and an array of world class triathletes, with more names to be revealed soon.

A addition to the 2016 event is an indoor, 800m racing track that will play host to the one mile running event, Run Like A Legend, a race to be held within the exhibition halls. Athletes can head to runlikealegend.com for details. The show organiser expects the event to attract an additional 2,000 visitors to the Expo, with waves being based on predicted finishing time.

The indoor track will also see a series of bike races on Friday to Saturday 19-20 March, with the blue riband event being the Rainbow Classic, an elite showdown featuring some of the UK’s fastest riders.

As the show organisers point out, it’s not all about the elites; there are races to cater for a range of abilities from juniors to Men’s Cat2/3/4 and a corporate challenge. Again, this unique aspect of the expo is expected to bring in more enthusiastic, competitive cyclists, boosting. Check out for further information.
