SPEERIT, a new mobile app that will ‘create a revolutionary running community’, has been launched as a private beta for iOS and Android. The app is designed to bring runners and athletes together. According to the company, it will benefit all runners and athletes, particularly in the current New York City marathon pre-period. (The 46th running of the TCS New York City Marathon is set for 6 November 2016.)
The free SPEERIT mobile app aims to connect runners together in ‘the most efficient way possible via a proprietary smart matching algorithm, which enables athletes to train and run smarter, together.’ The app has the ability to learn each runner’s patterns, including their pace, favourite distance and location and then uses the information to match each runner to an appropriate level and goal.
Plus, the app will find runners near them with similar stats to create a community. The private beta sign-up is now open by invitation only – interested users can visit www.speerit.co to request access. During this time, SPEERIT’s team will monitor feedback and input. Private beta users will receive a beta code via email with instructions to access the phone apps.
The core features available for this release include: connecting via fitness/running app or GPS watch, and analysis of running pattern to connect with runners with similar running habits via a smart matching algorithm.
Once connected, users can engage via chat, invite others and go for a run. The app is free and designed to be simple to use. SPEERIT’s next milestone will be the release of the app as open beta, which will be an upgraded version of the app with new features, based on feedback from the private beta testing.
For its launch, SPEERIT has signed-up its first partner: SHANTI BAR, a high performance protein bar. All who sign up to the free SPEERIT private beta will receive a 50% promotion code.
