Multisport coaching specialist, Trisutto, has continued to expand its coaching and training program – and has confirmed Irish elite athlete and coach Declan Doyle as its latest Trisutto Coaching Team member.
Trisutto Head Coach Brett Sutton said, “As our Trisutto family continues to grow, I am very pleased to welcome coach Declan Doyle. I have known Declan for more than 10 years, and during that time I have been able to observe his outstanding exploits as an athlete, while he continued his career in teaching. As a skilled educator, with athletic and coaching ability, I have asked Declan many times if he was interested in using his skills to help his fellow triathletes.
“This year Declan graduated from our Trisutto Coaching Certification course and showed to all in the Trisutto administration why I have pushed so hard, to see him join our team. An expert educator; he knows triathlon from the inside, and has attended training camps long before my Trisutto days. An Irish sense of humour brings to the table a unique set of skills that I believe will enhance every athlete he works with.”
He continued, “If you are considering a coach, getting in contact with Declan will be a far more practical investment in your triathlon than any tech gadget on the market. Declan, I wish you the very best in your choice of moving to the other side of the fence. I am truly confident you will make an excellent coach.”
Trisutto has created an official platform so that all coaches operating under the Trisutto umbrella have a comprehensive training, learning and program database. The Trisutto.com certification program involves three key aspects for coaches:
Online learning module
Learn the Trisutto coaching methodology and approach in a comprehensive 20 module course that takes the coach through all aspects of triathlon and performance coaching.
Compulsory mentorship period with senior Trisutto Coach
All coaches must complete a mentorship / apprenticeship period with a senior coach. Coaches maintain weekly contact with their mentor in person, or by email or Skype electronically. As part of their accreditation coaches need to supply a 3-month training program either week by week, previous to or after their athlete has completed the workouts. Backgrounds (age, time in sport, achievements, ability level) of the athlete need to be included plus training goals.
Compulsory on deck practical coaching experience
Attend 2 x 6 day camps on deck with Head Coach Brett Sutton. Attend every workout, experience Trisutto.com coaching methods applied to elite and age group athletes. This is a practical application of the training material covered during the 12 week training and mentoring period.
Coaches who complete the 12 week instruction and mentoring period, as well as attend both practical 6 day camps graduate as Trisutto Coaching Certified coaches, may have the option to coach through the Trisutto.com platform, as well as to be coaches of race teams ‘powered by Trisutto.com Coaching’.
