Triathlon Business International (TBI) has today announced that Dr Amy Thayer, Director of Research at Achieve, will be speaking at the Race Director breakout session on Monday afternoon, 23 January 2017, as part of TBI’s 7th annual business conference in Dallas, which runs from 22-24 January.

Thayer will be addressing the highly discussed topic of millennials, a group that is the first generation to come of age in the new millennium. There are more than 83 million millennials in the United States today, and they have surpassed baby boomers to become the largest living generation in the country.

Millennials are seen as a key audience that the business and sport of triathlon needs to reach – along with youth – to energize growth and success. Thayer will help attendees understand who millennials are, what makes them tick, and provide some strategies that can be used to reach and activate them.

Achieve is a full service research and marketing agency for causes, and the parent company of RacePartner. As Achieve’s Director of Research, Thayer is responsible for identifying and devising appropriate methodologies and data-collection strategies for projects like the Millennial Impact Report and the Millennial Running Study. She previously served as the Associate Director of Research at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Thayer earned her PhD in Human Nutrition, Foods, & Exercise (Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University); an MSRA in Recreation Administration (University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill); and a BS in Secondary Education (University of Dayton).
