Billed as the unofficial start of the triathlon season in Europe, Mallorca is ready to host the 21st edition of the Triathlon de Portocolom in Majorca, Spain, this April. Back in 2017, the event was chosen by athletes and the local federation for the fourth time in a row as the ‘Best Triathlon Event of the year in the Balearic Islands’.

The 2018 event takes place on Sunday, April 8th. As one of the earliest triathlon races of the year, and with pleasant racing conditions expected, there will be around 900 athletes racing the two formats of the event at Portocolom: 55.5 (500m swim, 50km bike and 5km run) or 111 (1km swim, 100km bike and 10km run).

Portocolom, located in the southern half of the east coast of the Balearic island of Mallorca, about 70km from Palma, offers up one of the earliest triathlon events of the European season and the bike ascent to Sant Salvador is one of the most interesting spots to test the form of the triathletes.

Alongside both the 55.5K and 111K races, the event organising team aims to offer a high quality experience to all participating triathletes, with: athletes’ bag-goodies, side event such as the Expo and the Awards Ceremony, and the TriKids Duathlon for kids, on Saturday, April 7th.

The Triathlon de Portocolom International event is organized by the sports events agency Kumulus and the Club Triatló Portocolom; and supported by the local council of Felanitx, the Ayuntamiento de Felanitx.
