This inaugural Brighton Music 5K has announced a new star DJ for its fun run, which takes place on 19th May on England’s South Coast. DJ Shiv is a 25 year-old international, multi-genre award winning DJ from Newcastle, UK. Using both mixing and microphone skills, Shiv plays to crowds of over 3000 people every week, both in the UK and abroad.
John Lunt, Race Director, said, “We’re extremely lucky to have DJ Shiv on board. It was important to me that we got the best DJ available, since music is at the centre of this event, and Shiv is certainly that. I know he’s going to bring something extra special to this event.”
DJ Shiv added, “I think Brighton is a place that loves music and sport, so it’s going to be perfect, and with the Great Escape happening that weekend I know every music lover and runner will be there. It’s going to be a great run. I can’t wait.”

Entries for the Brighton Music 5K start at £18.
Taking place on Saturday 19 May 2018 on Madeira Drive, Brighton, on England’s South Coast, all participants will receive a race tee and medal upon completion. The organising team note that the untimed race is all about inspiring people to get active in a fun and relaxed environment. ‘Combining two of Brighton’s biggest loves – music and running, the course will envelope a variety of musical genres and talents’.
Participants can also get creative and ‘embrace the Brighton spirit by dressing up as your favourite musical icon… The best dressed will win prizes, so it’s all to play for. It’s time to rock and run!’
John Lunt, Brighton and Hove Triathlon Event Director, added “Our ethos is all about getting people active whilst having fun. It’s always exciting launching a new event, and we hope you’ll bring your friends and family down to Brighton seafront for the loudest 5k the city’s seen.”
