Trek’s best-selling Domane road bike line has been expanded to include women’s models. The company notes that ‘Domane Women’s bikes deliver the renowned road-smoothing performance of their mainline counterparts, but also feature Women’s Specific Design (WSD) technologies at all touchpoints.’
The decision to bring the former Silque and Lexa models under the Domane naming structure is part of Trek’s strategy of offering both women’s and mainline models with the same technologies and performance characteristics.
“Trek doesn’t compromise on performance,” explained Women’s Marketing Manager Emily Bremer. “Every Trek Women’s model has the same technology and performance as its mainline counterpart, with the added benefit of touchpoints that can provide a better fit and feel from the start.”
The inclusion of Trek’s most popular Domane models in women’s-specific options aims to ‘strengthen what is already a best-in-class women’s road line’.
“The rider’s journey should be about the type of riding first, and gender second,” continued Bremer. “A woman who is interested in a road-smoothing road model should get to choose from all Domane models – mainline and women’s – to see which is the best fit and which offers the highest performance for the rider.
“Many women prefer the fit and feel of a women’s-specific model, and nearly as many do not. By having all the bikes under the same platform name, we hope to increase the options presented and ultimately get more riders on the perfect bike.”
Domane Women’s is available in four distinct carbon and aluminium platforms, (SLR, SL, ALR, and AL), in disc and calliper options. Domane SLR 6 Disc Women’s will be available for customization through Trek’s Project One custom build program.
Every women’s model has the same high-performance design as its mainline counterpart, with the added benefit of WSD technology touchpoints, which can make a women’s model fit better from the start. Riders will notice the WSD handlebar, stem, saddle, and shorter crank length on certain sizes.
