Two further speakers announced for The National Running Conference

The organisers of The National Running Conference in partnership with Running Imp have announced further speakers at the event on Friday 18 January 2019 at Birmingham’s NEC.

Kate Dale, Strategic Lead for Campaigns at Sport England, is a new addition to the speaker line-up. Responsible for delivering This Girl Can, Sport England’s multi-award-winning campaign – feminist and former journalist Kate has helped to change the way millions of people think about exercise and physical activity, with 3.9 million women getting active as a direct result.

Kate has also recently been appointed a trustee for Women’s Sport Trust, a leading UK charity focused on using the power of sport to accelerate gender equality and stimulate social change. She will share her insight and experiences about current and future trends in the running market at The National Running Conference.

Another well respected name to join the conference from the world of running is international announcer, broadcaster, presenter and event host Kris Temple. Kris will be hosting The National Running Conference. His most recent work includes announcing at the 2018 World Indoor Athletics Championships, the IAAF World Under 20 Championships in Finland and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He is a regular announcer and event presenter at mass participation running events, including the Virgin Money London Marathon and the Great Run Series.

Nick Pearson, CEO of parkrun, and Neil Venables, General Manager of Intersport UK & Ireland, have already been confirmed as speakers for the event next January.

The conference will see brands, retailers, race directors, official bodies, sports businesses and community sectors come together for one day to ‘network, share their knowledge and keep driving the UK’s running market forwards’.

The National Running Conference is a collaboration between Rebecca Richardson, MD and Founder of Breathe Unity, Joe Williams, MD and Founder of UKRunChat, Mike Seaman, MD and co-Founder of The National Running Show and Darren Pinder, Marketing Director and co-Founder of The National Running Show. Together, the four directors have experience in event organisation, marketing, community engagement and PR, and present knowledge of the running industry with their many years of experience in the sector.

Rebecca Richardson, Director of The National Running Conference, said “We are delighted to welcome Kate Dale as a speaker and Kris Temple as event host for The National Running Conference. Both bring an enormous amount of experience and wisdom to this pioneering running focused conference.”

She continued, “We are also extremely proud of what we are creating here from our experience, knowledge and connections; this puts us in a confident position to deliver such a significant event for the B2B running market. We are looking forward to hosting everyone under one roof to discuss, voice opinions and collaborate as a collective audience – with the ultimate aim to keep driving the UK’s rapidly-growing running market forwards together.”

‘Super Early Bird’ tickets for the conference cost £250 per person including networking, access to all talks and lunch.

The National Running Conference in partnership with Running Imp takes place at Birmingham’s NEC on Friday 18th January 2019. The National Running Show takes place at the same venue on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th January 2019.
