The International Triathlon Union (ITU) wishes to engage a contractor who has the ability and experience to do project-based work. The Athletes’ Education Developer will help to fulfil the growing demands in ITU’s developing and emerging national federations all around the world. The role focuses on the development of athletes and relevant educational resources.
Status: Project based contractor
Fee: Negotiable (commensurate with experience)
Reports to: Senior Manager, ITU Development
Start date: ASAP – not later than 1 May 2019
Finish date: 1 November 2019
Expected amount of work: 6-8 days/ month
The successful candidate will work closely with the ITU Development in the following areas:
- To design, create and develop Youth, Junior and U23 athletes’ development programmes (gold standard documents) for developing and emerging nations all around the five continents.
- To design and develop a Talent ID Programme/guidance for developing and emerging nations.
- To continue developing the ITU Education Hub (Moodle-based online platform) for athletes who are attending development projects (continental camps) from developing and emerging National Federations.
Requirements
- High Performance Coaching Accreditation/Certification
- Experience at Sport Development
- Experienced as High Performance Coach
- Tertiary qualification in education and sport science
- Demonstrated experience and delivery of athlete education and sport development programmes
- A capacity to balance the need to operate independently or work as part of a team as various tasks may require
- High level of oral and written communication skills in English
- Effective oral and written communication in French and/or in Spanish is highly recommended
- Knowledge of Moodle platform usage
