The middle distance St Pölten triathlon in Austria has officially confirmed that it is joining forces with Challenge Family. The shift to Challenge Family follows the recent discontinuation of IRONMAN 70.3 St. Pölten. A new agreement outlining the future of the event was signed and sealed at Challenge Roth in Germany on July 5, 2019.
The first ever Challenge St Pölten will take place on May 24, 2020. According to the organising team, the race under a new brand featuring the same proven components:
- 2,000 volunteers doing their best to support all the athletes
- Award-winning courses – a unique swim in two crystal clear lakes, a 90 km bike course with a 25 km section on a completely closed highway and through the unique Wachau, a Unesco World Heritage Site.
- A running course, that leads twice through the baroque city centre.

The organisers add that ‘preparations are already in full swing to provide the athletes with an unforgettable race in St Pölten.’
