Pirelli has introduced a new tyre to further complete its Scorpion MTB range. The new Scorpion XC RC tyre is positioned as a ‘high-performance product, 100% racing oriented, developed for and with the TREK PIRELLI MTB team.’
The Scorpion XC RC is a tubeless ready tyre, available in LITE and ProWALL versions. A company release adds that it offers up ‘a racing product of the highest profile, the new tyre is capable of offering lightness, super smoothness and good grip.
It combines Pirelli’s proprietary technologies already found in the Scorpion MTB range, starting with the innovative SmartGRIP Compound, derived from Pirelli’s experience in motorsport.
The tyre profile features more aggressive sides and a smoother centre to ‘make the new XC RC tyre the perfect weapon to conquer the modern Olympic Cross-Country tracks that are very technical, as well as providing excellent performances in the Marathons too.’
Samuele Porro, a bronze medallist at the World Championships in the XCM category, as well as Vlad Dascalu, a World Champion XCO U23, and their teammates at TREK PIRELLI tested the new tyres in various training sessions, as well as in the early season races, including the Mediterranean Epic and the Andalucia Bike Race.
