IRONMAN has confirmed the cancellation of IRONMAN 70.3 Muncie in Indiana, which was originally scheduled to go ahead on July 11.
The event organising team issued the following statement…
For the past few weeks our team has continued to work with respective local authorities and public health officials in preparing for 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Muncie triathlon on July 11 and felt confident we would be able to deliver an exceptional and safe event for all.
However, with the health and safety of our community being an utmost priority, and based on the recent mandates from the State of Indiana and Delaware County Health Department in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to inform you that the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Muncie triathlon cannot take place.
Athletes that are registered for the race will receive an email with further details. In what has been a continually evolving and challenging time globally, we recognize that the change at this late juncture will come as a disappointment but look forward to providing athletes with an exceptional race experience in the future.
