Jon Albon, the OCR World Champion, Trail Running World Champion, Ultra Skyrunning World Champion and two-times winner of the Skyrunning World Series is opening up in a new documentary giving a new and unfiltered insight into his rise to the top.
‘The new documentary Finding My Feet, commissioned by endurance sports TV, follows Jon at his home in Norway where he moved to live with his Norwegian girlfriend, now wife, Henriette. The documentary plots Jon’s transformation from a young, shy boy, who was more comfortable to follow his siblings and their passions rather than making his own choices, to an athlete at the pinnacle of his sport.’
Jon Albon said “The only reason I’ve got here is because I’ve been willing to say ‘yes’, to go out and do things. To sometimes be a little bit uncomfortable so I can have a better feeling afterwards.”
‘The immersive documentary allows fans to get an intimate look into Jon and Henriette’s life, both looking back, addressing their recent challenges including a painful foot operation, and looking forward to what lies ahead.’
“We have always wanted to give fans a chance to hear the stories behind great athletes, and it has been an inspiration to work with Jon to understand how one small word – ‘yes’ – has changed his life and put him on a path to be the greatest OCR athlete ever,” said Peter Tomlinson, founder of endurance sports TV.
Ross Brackley, the creator of the new endurance sports TV documentary, added “Getting out of the comfort zone isn’t easy. Yet, Jon took that leap which opened up a new world for him. To experience that first-hand with Jon and see how some seemingly small decisions have had such a big impact is truly inspiring. Jon is a one in a million athlete, and to help tell his story through this documentary was a real privilege.”
The documentary is available on endurance sports TV from Friday, 2nd October.
