KitBrix, a supplier of specialist kit bags for running and cycling, has launched a virtual event to help people stay fit this April, and raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH).
The COVID-19 crisis has resulted in the cancellation of planned fundraising events for many charities, so in order to continue crucial fundraising, £5 from each entry to the KitBrix virtual event will go towards supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and the seriously ill children who are cared for there.
The virtual event will challenge participants to record how many miles they can run or cycle, in a total of 8 hours spread across the month of April. Competitors will be able to upload their distances and times from home to an online leaderboard, to compare their time with other participants. There will also be chances to win prizes and kit from KitBrix over the course of the month.
KitBrix Partnership Manager, James Howell, said “The news of event cancellations is not only disappointing for athletes who have been training, but also to charities for whom these events raise vital funds. We have created an all-inclusive online event and are encouraging people to sign up to help support GOSH Charity during these challenging times.”
Louise Parkes, Chief Executive at GOSH Charity, said “We are so grateful to all of our supporters as we face an unprecedented challenge with the COVID-19 crisis. With the support of partners like KitBrix, we can help GOSH to continue to provide the best care for seriously ill children and their families during this difficult time and beyond.”
