The European Triathlon Union (ETU) has announced a revised 2020 calendar and an extended deadline for bids on 2021 European Championships and European Cups.
This week ETU can look back on the first event hosted since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. After a weekend of racing in Riga, Latvia, the ETU has the following events scheduled in the remainder of the 2020 season.
- Aug 21: 2020 Olsztyn Sprint Triathlon European cup & Junior European Cup
- Sep 9: 2020 Banyoles Junior European Cup
- Sep 20: 2020 Belgrade Junior European Cup
- Oct 10-11: 2020 Alhandra Triathlon Mixed Relay Club European Championships
- Oct 17: 2020 Liévin Super Sprint European Cup
- Nov 21-22: 2020 Quarteira Triathlon European Cup & Junior European Cup
2021 event bid process
With the aim of ensuring a calendar full of racing in 2021, the ETU has also extended the deadline to bid on events (2021 European Championships and European Cups) to September 30, 2020.
National federations and LOCs (local organising committees) have the opportunity to bid to host the following events next year:

- 2021 ETU Multisport Events European Championships Bid Document
- 2021 ETU Triathlon Mixed Relay European Championship Bid Document
- 2021 ETU Triathlon European Championships Bid document
- 2021 ETU Sprint Triathlon European Championships Bid document
- 2021 ETU Winter Triathlon European Championship Bid Document
